The Ratings page: each type's stars and what goes into them
  • Each company type a company runs has a rating of 0 to 5 stars, worked out from a sample every minute of play over the last 120 (about 2 hours): the window's average, the minutes not yet on record counting as nothing, so a type taken new starts at 0 stars and earns them.
  • A cargo type's sample: a third each Condition (its ships' maintenance from 40% to 95%, the share of their upgrade points spent, the mega upgrades of its models; not their age), Reliability (ships idle: paused, held, without a route or lost; departures with an empty hold; breakdowns and losses, a loss counting three) and Scale & reach (its ships against what its slots allow at the company's level, the ports it traded at in the last 30 minutes against what the level expects, the company's hubs against its slots). Agriculture has a fourth part, a quarter of its stars, Farms, so an Agriculture company needs farms for 5 stars. Cruises: a quarter each guest experience, itinerary, reliability & safety and value & reviews (see Cruise lines).
  • Effects (gentle, nothing at 2.5 stars): at 5 stars the type's cargo sells for 5% more, pays 20% less in port fees and earns 10% more XP; at 0 the opposite. The Cruises rating moves its recommended prices too (x0.7 at no stars to x1.3 at 5).
  • Shown on the Ratings page (a star button under the trophy on the map: each type's stars, what they do now, how much of the window is on record, each part's stars with the figures behind it and how to raise it), in a Ratings column on Compare companies, beside each type's name on the Shop's and the Ships tab's tabs, and in the activity log with a card each time a type reaches a new whole star or falls to one.
